After 8 years of extensive research of global leading professional, college & youth selections platforms & 20 years using player evaluations/self evaluations themselves as players & professional coaches, P2M Player Evaluator & Self Assessment Evaluation tools were created in 2010 by Gary & Carine Ireland (owners of Dynamic Soccer & Eclipse Academy co-founders) to offer coaches/scouts/selectors & parents to assess & track players ability, progress & potential & to provide players important personal analysis for them to use as the basis of a motivational practice & development action plan
P2M's multi-faceted player analyses aggregated score (Soccer GPA) include 80 numerical ratings (ranked 1-5) plus written assessment in the following 4 categories:
- Technical
- Physical
- Tactical
- Psychological
Professional clubs & their coaches have traditionally sought objective, comprehensive methods of assessing current & potential talent & have relied on objective data from physical testing & subjective opinion, which are still valuable but only give you part of the picture
Assessments are not a science & the 'eye tests' & character/personality are critical aspects to assesing players (made through training, competition & in person assessment) & future talent cannot be predicted with absolute certainty however there are obvious signs & clues to assessing players ability, current form & predicting a players potential & performance that can be determined from very young age, especially when overlaying social, academic & financial factors

Players current form & future potential can vary over the duration of a players career however there are various indicators which give scouts & selectors a good idea of a players ability, in many cases without seeing a player play live or through video. Age, injury, environment, coaching, ambition, ability to self practice, all impact a players P2M score. P2M evaluations offer written feedback on future potential, areas of improvement, training ideas & general comments/intangibles to supplement evaluations
P2M scores improve through not only the time spent training & playing but most importantly when players start their journey of concentrated (quality, frequency, intensity) of practice/self practice
Improving technical ball mastery, motor skills & coordination becomes more difficult as players become older (less time, motivation & hardwiring prevents players from making chnages) so the sooner the player starts on their personal journey, the sooner their P2M score can improve. This only happens when a players Psychosocial score is high which is usually determined by culture (at home/country/region) by a coach (typically a master coach), or family members with experience as a high level pro. player/coach & always if a player is ambitious, has a dream & emulates & imitates favorite players
Immediate improvement of P2M scores are usually found in players who score high physically, while those with lesser physical traits can make significant gains Tactically, Technically & to a lesser extent, physically
Evaluation categories aren't exclusive because scores in other areas impact other category scores, which impact the players overall score. However a players Psychosocial score determines incremental improvement
